Tutorial - Screenflow

Teach a man to fish… So I’ve had people ask me about how I do my screen tutorials and then recently got into a twitter discussion with @comebackshane about Screenflow. This is a tutorial I made for Shane, a VERY well respected FCP guru, showing him a quick tour of Screenflow.

Man, you rock for this Chris. I was just listening to 16x9 podcast and heard your voice (hadn't listened in a while and didn't realize Carl was co-hosting his show now). Went to his podcast area to get your link here. Saw your post here on ScreenFlow which I had not yet heard of. I was creating Video CD-Rom tutorials from 2002-2005, but the tools have all changed.

I only recently started poking around and my personal favorite "Screen Record" looks like it stopped development in 2008 so I was poking around at the other apps out there, but had not yet bumped into Screenflow. All I can say is WOW.

I used to do all the captures in Screen Record which also had no render times like SnapzPro did. Then I'd take the movies into FCP and do all the post work there. Screenflow looks like a godsend.

I am just now doing video training for HDR and hit some snags today so the timing of your blog post is amazingly perfect. I have to thank you for sharing this. And I'll have to thank Carl for keeping at his podcast, because if he hadn't had you on as host I'd have not arrived here on my own.

Small world.

Thanks again Chris.
