I've been looking for something like this and I thank you for posting it. That particular Weibetech enclosure in your presentation, I don't see on Weibetechs site? I know you're not a big FCPX user, which I am, but in the case of storage, you might want to approach that differently because of FCPX being just one big database. The downside to a database is if any project gets corrupt FCPX will not launch, and you'd better pray you're backup FCPX project does work. I've had one incident where the backup didn't work either and the only way back into FCPX was to delete that particular project from the finder. Using your storage method with FCPX I would suggest utilizing Steve Martin's sparse disk image method. The beauty of this is, none of your projects will load upon launching FCPX. Only the disk images you've opened will appear in FCPX just like any other mounted drive. In the case of having a 1TB OEM drive filled with projects, it would be silly to have FCPX load every single project, which it will do if you don't store them as a disk image. Anyway, thanks again, great stuff!

Anonymous DSLR shooter comments on Tutorial - Finding DVCPRO HD Codec

If you don't have DVCPRO HD or ProRes you can go here:

http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1396

If you don't have Compressor/FCP or an Apple App there is a work *COUGH* around:

After downloading try this

http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/

Use that app to uppack the update to a folder on your desktop.

Then stick the .component files in your HD -> Library -> Quicktime Folder

Reboot.

Thomas comments on Color Correction - My thoughts

Chris, the direction of color graing/correction implemetation into the NLE has already taken it's course.
It goes even further as development shows. The whole process of editing, compositing, mastering/finishing into one single application is already there.
Something that Apple clearly missed, or to be frank, the don't even thought about it.
They just started a decade ago to f''k with the all the pioneers of NLE creation and pee on their legs. Distorting the market and destroying companies. Apple ego is bigger than anything and I'm sure it will eat em up in the near future.
However. While it would be nice to send everything to a "proper" color program, they're generally isn't any funds for it. Plus, most of those programs take a lot of expertise to work with. Something most of us "small shops" don't have the time for. I've watched a real colorist do their thing and they make it look so easy but for now I have to stick with the basics and then go for Magic Bullet Looks to tweak it a bit.

Pablo comments on Vimeo sucks!

You are right man.
