Tutorial - ScreenFlow Alignment

My buddy, Joseph Linaschke contacted me earlier this evening with a really interesting problem.  He wanted to be able to MOVE his iSight Track in ScreeFlow BUT he also wanted to get it back EXACTLY where it was... tough to do in ScreenFlow because they have no XY coordinates to allow you to pin register something. Also, I've been requesting some sort of Presets so I could hit one button and have it frame the upper left corner on the Apple menu since before Telestream bought ScreenFlow, but thats another topic.
Anyway, check out this cool tip. Works great for those who really want something to be exact.

Chris, thanks for all your hard work and knowledge sharing. You are very helpful and we appreciate your time. Here is my question. Can you do a tutorial on your workflow using ScreenFlow when producing for YouTube? I assume you capture your desktop and then import into FCP for final edits, etc before publishing a H.264 Quicktime movie file. I have been using iShowU HD and I think your videos look better than mine so I thought I would give ScreenFlow a try. I just downloaded the latest version 2.1. Thanks in advance for your time.

Hey Tim... let me tell you this... I have iShowU and haven't launched it once since I got ScreenFlow. ScreenFlow, in a word.. .KICKS ASS...

Interesting idea to do a tutorial about how to do the tutorials... very 'meta'... I'll give it some thought.

Tim... one other comment... these tutorials NEVER TOUCH Final Cut Pro... there is NO WAY I could do them as fast as I do if I had to go thru Final Cut Pro. I really hope that the recent Steve Jobs rumor of him claiming that the next revision of FCP would be "awesome" is true. The last couple revisions have been really painful in my eyes. Seriously... in the last Version one of the MAIN features they touted was "Colored Markers"... that should have been a "point release"...

Steve claims the recent layoffs were in support... lets hope he's telling the truth. I want a KICK ASS FCP SOON...

Good on ya Michael... its a very handy one... but it didn't come easy... My good friend Joseph Linaschke at Aperture Expert was pushing me for a way to 'pin register' things and right after I told him it couldn't be done this gimmick sort of came to me. Joseph is great at pushing you just a tiny bit further then 'is possible'...
