This Week in Photo did an interview with us.

Just days after returning from our Route 66 trip, Frederick Van Johnson came to our house and we sat down and discussed the photographic elements of our trip. Gear selection, packing, data management and photographic strategy on a one month road trip. We are also the first show posted on their all new website, which looks great. You can also log onto iTunes and Subscribe there.

Hi,

I enjoyed your interview on TWIP. You talked about geotagging and said that it was a bit of a pain and described the way you do it. I have been geotagging my photos for a few years and my workflow only adds one simple, extra step.

- plug Sony GPS-CS1 into USB port
- remove CF card from 5DMII and plug into USB reader
- start Downloader Pro
- select CF card as source
- verify GPS data
- click on download [it grabs both images and movies]
- CR2 file is downloaded and xml side car file is created
- import into Lightroom as an "add to catalog" without moving the data

Neil

Neil... Beth is really the one into the GeoTagging stuff... do you know if this works with Aperture... I haven't heard of Downloader Pro. But then again... I"M the "Vid-iot" in the family.
