Tutorial - After Effects to FCPX LInk

There is one thing that I don’t mention in this tutorial that is pretty important. If you allow FCPX to manage your library, and it copies files into its Library instead of leaving them in place, this technique won’t work. What you’ll need to do is turn off the “Copy my Files into the Library” feature in the preferences.

You could probably simplify this a bit further by using Hazel to watch for any mov files written to a render to here folder which then moves it up one level when it finishes writing.

Or, you could use Premiere Pro and link your comp automatically. Hehe! Very cool trick my man!

But there doesnt seem to be a workaround when Premiere Pro loses its link with the comp which happens to me anytime it starts to get a little complex.

I've been using this technique with success for quite a while now, but on a recent project, FCPX has been crashing on me, and it seems to be stemming from the workflow. Have you run into this by any chance? And if so, do you have any workarounds?
